LEGAL AID & THE VOUCHER SCHEME
You may be eligible for legal aid for mediation if you are on a low income, or not working, including changes in your finances from COVID-19. We can help you start this process before you book your appointment with us.
Legal aid for mediation cases helps families agree on arrangements where:
- Your getting divorced and therefore need to sort out financial arrangements
- Child arrangements have broken down, and so you do not see your children
- Any dispute following a family breakdown may end up in court
FAMILY MEDIATION VOUCHER SCHEME
The Ministry of Justice has launched a voucher scheme which will provide a contribution of up to £500 towards the costs of mediation, for the eligible cases, supporting people in resolving their family law disputes outside off court.
The voucher scheme is a time limited scheme, designed to support clients who may be able to resolve their family law disputes outside off court. The government set this scheme up in response to COVID-19, supporting the recovery in family court, while encouraging more people to consider mediation as a means of resolving their dispute. The financial contribution of up to £500, will aid our clients to find a positive resolution.
As an accredited mediator, 1stForMediation is authorised by the Family Mediation Council to take part in both Legal Aid and the Voucher Scheme, and offer this to our eligible clients.
Please do not hesitate to phone and ask us about this support with costs, we will be happy to help.
