Workplace Mediation
Workplace Mediation is the process when an independent / impartial professional third party facilitates a discussion between you and your employer, or you and an employee, to find a mutual resolution.
We can visit your place of work for this type of mediation. A tailored programme of mediation, to suit the needs of your business, and the needs of your employees can be formulated to minimise disruption and engage co-operation.
Mediation normally takes place when informal discussions have failed to come up with a solution.
The process is voluntary, giving all parties the freedom to terminate. Ultimately, you and your employer / employee would mutually agree on a solution to solve the dispute.
What are the different things we can discuss in workplace mediation?
Resolving Disputes - Examples being disagreements over performance issues, disagreements between managers and subordinates, matters which could give rise to an employment or civil claim.
Progression in the Workplace - Where multi-departmental meetings have failed to reach a route forward Mediation can assist in looking at the problem/issue from a fresh angle. Examples being how to deal with a specific issue that has arisen or meeting new government guidelines. Following intimation of a claim or grievance Mediation can assist in helping to find a solution and a way forward, be it financial settlement or other terms acceptable to the parties.
Restoring Employment Relationships - Either pre or post dispute Mediation can assist in allowing parties to more forward together rather than dwelling on the past. Examples being dealing with absence/stress and solving fractured working relationships so parties could work together in the future.
